Skills and interests

The exposure to new tech has been incredible. Mostly, I have enjoyed interviewing and photographing people. However, the coding and programming sessions with Rodric have been amazing. Coding is a complete new skill that I had never explored before, but I love it.

Using social media to network and document has also been extremely interesting for me. Since starting at KWMC I have gained 25 followers including industry professionals, including David Alder the director of communications and marketing at University of Bristol and Sammy Mansourpour of The Agency UK. This is pretty fantastic because it means any work I post has the potential to reach someone who may be able to give me a job. This is already happening; Roger Griffith of Ujima Radio, who I met through documenting the ELEBCIS launch, said he was impressed with my journalism and instant uploads and that he will keep me in mind for any future writing/photography work at his radio station.

I'm also becoming more and more interested in how social media is used for marketing and driving campaigns.

An ideal industry professional for me would be someone who works in newspaper/online journalism or social media.
